The SPCPC is actively recruiting for a PFT technologist. The incumbent is retiring May 19, 2016.

We are seeking a registered Respiratory Therapist or a registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist or other licensed health care professional whose formal training includes studies in anatomy and physiology of the cardiorespiratory system and whose subsequent experience includes two (2) or more years performing pulmonary function tests. Current CPR training is required.

We have one station testing up to eight (8) patients per day from age 10 and older from Monday to Thursday.

The Pulmonary Function Technologist will provide quality diagnostic services, including the following testing procedures:
- Spiromentry
- Diffusion capacity of the lung
- Slow vital capacity
- Multi-breath nitrogen washout
- Resting pulse oximetry tests

Responsibilities:
- Prepares, maintains and calibrates pulmonary function testing equipment
- Maintains adequate levels of supplies used for testing
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and reports needed repairs/replacements
- Assist with clinical research as needed
- Disinfect equipment
- Participate in Quality Assurance meetings
- Other duties as assigned

Salary is commensurate with experience. Must have people skills with special empathy for people with respiratory illness. Ability to work with minimal supervision is necessary. Must be familiar with PFT computer software, email, and basic computer skills.
